This is a fun, fast paced adventure set in an enchanted forest on the outskirts of Portland OR. Prue and Curtis find themselves drawn into a conflict between different commnities in Wildwood, including the bureaucrats of S. Wood, the friendly farmers and creatures in N. Wood and the bandits and coyotes caught in the middle. This book is reminiscent of Narnia with its talking animals and social conflicts that mirror some of what we find in our own world. I can't wait to read the rest of the series.
